Welcome: A Few Words By The Curator

“Hello everybody!
I’d just like to take a minute and thank you all for coming out tonight. Perspectives of Happiness is a photo exhibition that invites you to enjoy some of Yale’s finest undergraduate photography. Each picture is a beautiful statement on the vibrant diversity in this world that is held together by the shared value of happiness. But this exhibition is not just about the statements which you see on the wall. It’s about the invisible but important questions that we hope to inspire:
What is your perspective of happiness?
What does happiness look like for you?
These are questions which may seem overwhelming, so I figured that art could offer a spark of inspiration. I invite you to reflect on and, if you like, share your own perspective of happiness by submitting it to our online exhibition.
Last but not least, I encourage you to leave a donation for SmileTrain, a charity organization that gives children their smile back. IN particular, they provide cleft lip and palate surgery for children in developing countries.
Thanks once more for coming and thank you to The HappyHap Project team, the Internationals Student Organization and the Yale European Undergraduates for the wonderful collaboration.”
This brief speech was held by Sunnie Tölle on September 30th, 2011 at the opening of the exhibition in Maya’s Room at Silliman College at Yale University.
